DESCRIPTION
Nikka From The Barrel is a blended whisky that was released in 1985. The idea behind the development of this expression started with the goal of delivering full flavors and richness of the whisky just like ‘from the barrel’. The secret lies in three main components, a unique combination of complex blending, a higher ABV of 51.4%, and the “marriage” process during maturation. The iconic small square bottling reflects its concept of “a small block of whisky” and the rich and intense flavors packed inside.
The exact formula for the blend is unknown but it is known to contain more than 100 different batches of malt and grain whiskies. After the blending process, the whisky is ‘married’ together by filling into used barrels and matured for a few months.
